OKLAHOMA HIGHER LEARNING ACCESSS PROGRAM

Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program provides financial assistance for students to attend college. Students in grades 8, 9, and 10 with family incomes of up to $50,000 per year may apply for this tuition scholarship. Students must commit to taking the following college preparatory courses and achieve at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA along with a 2.5 minimum GPA in the 17 OHLAP courses.

Grammar, composition, literature

Biology, chemistry, physics or any certified lab science; general science with or without a lab may not be used to meet this requirement

Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, math analysis, calculus, Advanced Placement Statistics

History and citizenship skills
including one unit of American history and two units from the subjects of history, government, geography, economics, civics, and/or non-Western Culture

Foreign or non-English language (two years of the same language)
OR Computer technology
Courses in programming, hardware and business computer applications such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets and graphics. (Keyboarding or typing classes do NOT qualify.) (1 foreign language and 1 computer course will not meet this requirement.)
